Congratulations to Dave Comeau for earning his 3 C&L speech pin last week. I mistakenly listed George McKenna instead – George will be earning his own pin very soon I’m sure.
APB… Has anyone seen our Club Banner – the one with all the awards on it? If you know where it is, please contact Wayne DuPont. We’ve got another award to add to this banner and we’d like to display it at our meetings.
We had a very special guest as our Toastmaster for the evening – Santa Claus. Santa (alias Bob Eber) did an excellent job getting us into the holiday spirit with his costume and humor. Dick Brady gave us some very challenging topics based on "famous quotes" and how they relate to improving our lives. And Therese Delongchamp evaluated all aspects of the meeting giving each of us something to focus on as we continuously improve our communication skills.

"It’s A Challenge Toastmasters" |
Terry Londergan |
A non-manual speech on the challenges and responsibilities of the Toastmaster roles. Very appropriate speech about the origin of "table topics" and how they challenge us all to improve our impromptu speaking skills. |
"My Favorite Christmas Tool" |
Paul Goldstein |
A non-manual speech about what it’s been like adjusting to life in a wheelchair, especially during the holiday season. Another excellent speech from Joe showing how he’s overcome challenges most of us never thought much about. |
"Christmas Tree Care" |
Mike Carusi |
An advanced manual speech on how Christmas trees actually became a tradition. A very timely and humorous speech about the early days of putting Christmas trees in homes. Thank goodness the "moose" idea didn’t catch on… |
