Please make every effort to notify the Toastmaster of the evening well in advance if you are unable to fulfill your assigned role – it’s common courtesy and a sign of a Competent Toastmaster.
We had our final Toastmasters Meeting for 1999 and are set to enter the next millennium – we don’t expect any Y2K problems unless someone forgot to check out the timer’s clock (oops). Thanks to Al Wheeler for filling in as Toastmaster and he did a fine job running the meeting. Dan Abraham dished out some rather interesting and challenging quotes from the Toastmaster Magazine for us all to work into our impromptu speeches – it was a lot of fun. And our General Evaluator, Mike Carusi, gave some in depth critiques of the meeting and speakers that will help us all improve our skills. As a side note, Mike is well on his way to becoming an accomplished poet.

"Life Is Not A Dress Rehearsal" |
Fred Nathan |
|
A C&L #6 speech about manifesting your dreams. A very motivating speech about achieving your dreams now – not waiting and waiting and waiting for something to happen on its own. The message was very clear to everyone – take charge of your life and don’t procrastinate. Sounds like a very timely New Years Resolution. Great speech Therese!!! |

"How To Drive Defensively During The Holidays" |
Paul Goldstein |
|
A C&L #2 speech giving us all safe driving tips while travelling during the holidays. This was a very appropriate speech for this time of the year with everyone rushing around to get somewhere. Rosemary gave an excellent presentation of the key defensive driving points for us to focus on which I’m sure will help us all. Very well done Rosemary and with just one more speech you get your 3 speech pin!!! |
