Stan Birdwell did a very good job as Toastmaster – his 1^st time in this role. Special thanks to George Hast (Topicsmaster) and Ralph Lacerte (General Evaluator) for filling in at the last minute to perform these key roles.

Bob’s final speech toward the ATM Silver certification. As a requirement of this speech Bob needed to include and introduce other speakers as part of his overall speech. This speech was about the challenges and new directions in the next millenium that will get us to Mars. He also spoke a lot about what Mars is like, why it is a desirable location, and how missions back and forth could be managed. Very informative and made us think about new frontiers.
Wayne DuPont	"Visions From Model Rocketry"	Dick Brady
Wayne’s 2^nd speech from the ATM manual "Speaking to Inform" that was part of Bob Ebers overall speech . This was a speech all about Model Rocketry – the origin, typical model rocket components, model rocket flight, and lessons learned. In particular the focus was on how Model Rocketry helps develop far reaching visions that just might take us to Mars and beyond someday.

Special Notes:

Start the New Year off on the right foot and come join us for a fun learning experience! As always we meet at the Regency Suites on Southbridge Street in Worcester every Wednesday from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.

We are planning a "Speech Night" on January 19^th, 2000 with a theme around an interesting "Winter Adventure". Please contact Terry Londergan to sign up as a speaker. This meeting will be all speeches and it should be a lot of fun!

The Toastmasters Leadership Institute has a session planned for Saturday, January 29, 2000. If we can get 4 Club Officers to attend we’ll get another point toward the Distinguished Club Program.

George Hast and Terry Londergan drafted guest introduction letters that would help better explain how our weekly meetings are conducted. Wayne DuPont took the action to combine these into one letter and bring to the next meeting. Also Dan Abraham offered to send this letter to other area clubs, e.g. Lyons, etc., to help solicit new members.

Notice to all Club Officers, please have a speech ready at all times so we can replace any no shows. This is a good practice for all Toastmasters as well.
