Even though the deadline has passed for submitting dues you are encouraged to rejoin if you haven't done so. It's such a small price to pay for the experience and all the benefits available to Toastmasters.

We are looking for volunteers for the next term of Club Officers (starting in July). If you are interested in becoming an Officer please talk to Dan Abraham or Wayne DuPont. This is your chance to be part of the leadership team that takes our club another step higher in club performance.

An interpretive reading from the memoirs of Sen. William Stewart (Nev.). A very enlightening speech about the inauguration of Andrew Johnson after the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.

A motivating speech about the importance of always being prepared as a Toastmaster. It only takes about 15 minutes before each meeting to get prepared for any role you might be asked to assume. Volunteer for a role before you're even asked.
Judy Safern	"Smoking and You"	Hugh Burke
C&L Speech #9. A fact filled speech all about the effects of smoking on your health. Statistics on how smokers have a reduced life expectancy, consequences of continued smoking, and the almost immediate benefits of quitting.

SPECIAL NOTES:

The next District Conference will be held on May 5^th and 6^th. More details are in your yellow District 31 Newsletter. All Toastmasters are welcome to attend. The Officer Training at this conference is especially important if you’re interested in becoming a club officer.

The use of e-mail is paying off - 26 members now receive the weekly news bulletin via e-mail. Our current stamp savings is $9.00 per week which will easily cover the costs of our new web site.

A reminder to please buy a meal and/or drink at the meetings to help our club maintain the room availability.

Please make every effort to notify the Toastmaster of the evening well in advance if you are unable to fulfill your assigned role – it’s common courtesy and a sign of a Competent Toastmaster.

Notice to all Club Officers, please have a speech ready at all times so we can replace any no shows. This is a good practice for all Toastmasters as well – BE PREPARED!
