The club members present voted 8 to 7 to "clap off" all speakers upon meeting the agreed preset speech time limit (when the buzzer sounds…). The Table-topics speeches were selected from current issues and news. These short speeches included safety of robotic surgery, contaminated organic products at your grocery store, and adventure dreams about the tall ships visiting Boston.

Gerald Groccia will host our next cookout on July 19, 2000. Please find the directions to Gerald's house at the end of this bulletin (MAP can be accessed on-line).

30^th manual speech to ATM Silver - Joe related the epic story of Achilles and left everyone uncertain as to whether the jealous Greek god Apollo, or Paris ruler of the Greek city Troy, speared Achilles in his vulnerable heel.

SPECIAL NOTES:

Cookouts are planned for July, August, and maybe September. These are a lot of fun and cost $5 each for the food.

Please remember to buy a meal and/or drink at the meetings to help our club maintain the room availability.

Please make every effort to notify the Toastmaster of the evening well in advance if you are unable to fulfill your assigned role – it’s common courtesy and a sign of a Competent Toastmaster.

Notice to all Club Officers, please have a speech ready at all times so we can replace any no shows. This is a good practice for all Toastmasters as well – BE PREPARED!

As always we meet at the Regency Suites on Southbridge Street in Worcester every Wednesday from 7:00 – 9:00 PM (except for outings which will be announced in advance – please see the schedule above)

Directions to the Groccia's: From Worcester take I-290 East to Rt. 140 North; after the Dragon 88 (on left), take 1^st right onto School St; then left at the STOP sign; go 1 mile and #116 is on the left (you can't see the house from the road, so look for the BLACK mailbox with the #116 on it).
