Gerald's cookout lived up to it's legendary acclaim! The food was delicious and abundant! The Italian sausage marinated in red wine was my favorite! The topic of the evening was derived from the TV show "Survivor". Each person tried to convince the others that he or she should not be kicked off of the island. A variety of strategies were employed: some cajoled, some threatened, some bribed, some claimed "sour grapes", and so on… At the end of the round of topics Gerald shook everyone's hand and inquired if each had an enjoyable time. We all responded that we had, but certainly some of us worried if it was just another scheme to convince us that he should be allowed to stay on the island! It was not.

John Keeton will host our next cookout on August 16, 2000. Directions to John's house will be provided at the end of a future bulletin (MAP will be accessible on-line).

Cookouts are planned for August, and maybe September. These are a lot of fun and cost $5 each for the food.

Please remember to buy a meal and/or drink at the meetings to help our club maintain the room availability.

Please make every effort to notify the Toastmaster of the evening well in advance if you are unable to fulfill your assigned role – it’s common courtesy and a sign of a Competent Toastmaster.

Notice to all Club Officers, please have a speech ready at all times so we can replace any no shows. This is a good practice for all Toastmasters as well – BE PREPARED!
