A fun and exciting time was enjoyed by all who attended the September Cookout hosted by Joe Mewhiney, his wife Kathy and daughter Leanne. Excellent food, desserts and conversation were plentiful. A give-away preceded the Table Topics portion of the evening in which Joe gave away some truly awesome Toastmaster apparel: sweatshirts beautifully embroidered with the Central Toastmasters emblem, as well as other artfully embroidered clothing. Our members then wittily and often humorously handled the Table Topics that ranged from "how a movie changed your life" to "the worst boss that you ever had"!

Central Toastmasters will be hosting its Humorous Speech Contest on September 27, 2000 (next meeting!). Please contact Therese Delongchamp if you would like to give a 5-7 minute humorous speech. We can accommodate a few more speakers.

Anyone interested in being an MC for "First Night Worcester" may contact Stephanie Gibree at 869-6291. Stephanie is looking for a speaker to host programs and to introduce acts at "First Night Worcester".

• A reminder to please buy a meal and/or drink at the meetings to help our club maintain the room availability.
• Please make every effort to notify the Toastmaster of the evening well in advance if you are unable to fulfill your assigned role – it’s common courtesy and a sign of a Competent Toastmaster.
• Notice to all Club Officers - please have a speech ready at all times so we can replace any no shows. This is a good practice for all Toastmasters as well – BE PREPARED!
