Meeting Notes – John Keeton, our distinguished President and barrister, hosted a cookout at his house. John and his family were magnanimous hosts, providing the members and their guests with a bountiful repast. All members chose a card containing a word, and many were skeptical of the intent of this exercise. Some discarded their word if it seemed to not be compatible with their ability to use the word in an impromptu speech, or if the word proved to be too licentious. Each speaker’s job was to describe how he or she had used that word in casual conversation during the cookout. The impromptu was educational and entertaining, and all speakers were able to overcome their diffidence, haggardness, or other impediments to give an enjoyable talk.
We meet every Wednesday from 7-9 pm at the Thyme’s Square Restaurant, 455 Pleasant Street, Worcester, Mass.
Members who are interested in speaking outside the club, please contact George Hast for more information about the "Speakers Bureau"
AWARD (The Toastie Award)
Filomena Didiano won the Toastie award for best impromptu.
