Summary

Aaron Kan

A Potent Pain Killer

Tom Quaranta

Aaron told us of how he got out of the overwork and overeat cycles, and found a way to relax and deal with emotional pain.  He maintains that pain is not caused by reality, but by our thoughts.   When you get a negative thought, follow these steps: 1) Ask if it is true 2)  Notice  how you react to the thought 3) Imagine what life would be like without this thought.

Vinod Chaku

Ice Breaker

Triin Tammearu

Vinod told us how his family emphasized education, and he studied at an engineering college.  He developed an interest in electronics, and worked in India’s first semiconductor industry.  Coming to America, he worked in Phoenix, then later got his Master’s at the University of Arizona, and is now at Compaq.

Carl Lakes

The Simple Life

John Capuano

Carl says we should find meaning and contentment in the everyday things in life, and live a simpler life.  Some ideas to attain this were: Reduce clutter, do errands in one trip, have a smaller house,  reduce your TV watching.

Marie Cutroni

15 Mandatory

Elisabeth Ludlage

Marie expressed her opinion that the “15 Mandatory” law is not effective – the dealers have not gotten off the streets and drug use is not down.  She told us that the revenue from drug sales eclipses the sales of cigarettes and alcohol.
