Fang Lui

Ying Yang – A Beautiful Philosophy

Dan Abraham

C&L #2 - Fang explained that the ying-yang symbol represents two opposite principles or tendencies of one (or more) objects.  Yin is always complementary of yang, and the balance of nature is sustained.

Tom Quaranta

The Tinkerer

Mary Alice Widness

C&L #2 - Tom recalled his experiences with tinkering, which has consumed him since he was a boy.  The two ingredients of a good tinkerer are: 1) curiosity and 2) be a collector.  He also told of things that he does to get his mind of tinkering, such as fishing and classical music

Ÿ          We meet every Wednesday from 7-9 pm at the Regency Suite.  Directions are below.

Ÿ          Members who are interested in speaking outside the club, please contact Dan Abraham for more information about the “Speaker’s Bureau”

Ÿ          The toastmaster of the evening and the Sergeant of Arms are responsible for arranging the tables suitably for the meeting

Ÿ          Fred Nathan, Sergeant at Arms, will collect $5.00 from any member who has not met the minimum dinner purchase requirement that maintains the room availability

Ÿ          A 15% gratuity is mandatory to insure proper service.  You may, at your discretion, give more.

Ÿ          It is a sign of courtesy to be quiet while a speaker is at the podium.

Ÿ          Proper dress for the dinner meeting is business casual at a minimum.

Ÿ          To sign up to receive district 31 headquarters e-mail and news, go to the WWW and visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/d31tm

Ÿ          Notice to all Club Officers - please have a speech ready at all times so we can replace any no shows. This is a good practice for all Toastmasters as well – BE PREPARED!

Ÿ          Be sure to contact Therese Delongchamp (VP of Education) if you want to get on the schedule for a role or speech. Therese’s home phone is 508-797-0974.

Ÿ          If you have an e-mail address (home or work) and are still receiving the Bulletin via regular mail please contact Pete Hoag ("peter.hoag@staples.com") so we can add you to our e-mail distribution.
